The first in a series of intelligence modules to be launched during 2008, BioWisdom's Liver Intelligence Module contains over 75,000 individual factual assertions relating to the liver responses effected by over 5,000 different compounds in over 20 different species. These assertions distil the intelligence contained within more than 19 million documents and database records, including regulatory documents, drug labels, pre-clinical and clinical research journals.

A growing resource

The Liver Intelligence Module embodies a growing database of liver-related responses published in documents and databases by R&D organizations and regulatory authorities. Using our intelligent search technology we automatically ‘read' millions of documents and store key observations as ‘assertional meta-data'.  This meta-data is stored in a semantically consistent format which dramatically improves the pace and efficiency of analysis. Although millions of documents are read automatically, a task which would take hundreds of highly trained experts many months to achieve, we are able with rigorous quality control by PhD level scientists to deliver over 97% accuracy.

A predictive approach 

Irrespective of stage, whether your compound is still on the drawing board, pre-clinical or clinical, the Liver Intelligence Module allows you to determine whether your compounds have any chemical traits that would indicate potential liver effects.

An intuitive search interface 

The Liver Intelligence Module is accessible using an internet explorer from anywhere in the world.

As well as the usual 'quick search' box for keyword searching, the system allows searching by chemical structure, including exact matching, similarity (using Tanimoto) and sub-structure searching. Advanced 'assertional meta-data' searching is also possible, for example, you can search for all compounds causing liver necrosis in seconds.  Our unique format of ‘assertional meta-data' allows you to complex analyses to be performed without reference to the underlying source documents.

Any search can be saved as a favorite to speed up future searching and the system has in-built alerting functionality so you will be automatically notified of any changes in the data that impact a saved query.
