Intelligent Metadata

Intelligence MetadataBioWisdom specializes in the application of ‘Intelligent Metadata’ to enhance the value of your data for your business. Key Concept Metadata (KCM) is used to annotate, translate and connect critical concepts expressed in structured and unstructured records. KCM can be used for Knowledge Discovery – text mining and enterprise search. KCM can be used for organising, categorising, filtering and channeling documents; for aligning and comparing key concepts such as assets and liabilities.

BioWisdom KCM is organised by semantics, syntax, morphology and provenance. BioWisdom KCM is tested for efficacy in a wide range of ECM contexts. By harmonising legacy KCM used by data and software providers, their products become compatible, even ‘interoperable’. This interoperability, based on a shared KCM vocabulary, or ‘lexicon’ creates the environment to see what can be seen and to know what can be known.

BioWisdom KCM enables the creation of other powerful metadata which really starts to render ‘action-able’ the intelligence contained within distributed content. Our Assertional Metadata (AMD) platform distills the assertions made in structured and unstructured text and creates a powerful ‘alignable’ metadata network within which important relationships can be easily identified. Taking the alignment concept a step further, we create Dynamic Metadata Signatures (DMS) which by combining KCM and powerful mathematical algorithms provide the ability to compare and contrast any entity of interest.

BioWisdom has specialised in Life Sciences and has worked on some of the thorniest problems with many of the great names in the pharmaceutical industry. Our Safety Intelligence Program (link) provides a metadata knowledge-base that can be searched using biological and chemical terms (such as chemical structure) which were not even used in the original documents but can reveal chemical motifs which result in drug toxicity.
